VISA APPLICATION OVERVIEW
Before starting the application process, the applicant must first determine what type of visa is the most appropriate. Entry visas are allocated depending on the nature and reasons for the trip(s) to Mozambique and the applicant’s compliance to the GENERAL CONDITIONS and SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.
ENTRIES & VALIDITY
Visas can be simple (with one entry) or multiple (with multiple entries) and with a minimum validity of one (1) month and a maximum of three (3) months.
ISSUANCE TIME
Visas are granted within six (6) days, for normal visas, two (2) days for urgent visas and one (1) day for very urgent visas.
APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Applications can be submitted at the Embassy or via mail.
VISA PROCESSING FEES
Diplomatic visas are exempt from taxes and fees.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Citizens residing in Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg may request entry visas for Mozambique at the Embassy of Mozambique located in Brussels – Belgium. Citizens of different nationalities working in the EU institutions as well as in international organizations based in these countries can also apply for visas at this Embassy.
Applicants who have been expelled, forbidden to entry the Republic of Mozambique or declared “persona non grata” do not comply with the General Conditions for obtaining entry visas.
Based on international agreements concluded by the Republic of Mozambique, envisaging the waiving of visa obligations, all foreign nationals using passports from Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius, Swaziland, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe are exempt from entry visas for Mozambique.
Foreign nationals holding diplomatic and service passports from the countries of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries CPLP (Angola, Brazil, Cape-Verde, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Sāo Tomé e Príncipe and Portugal), are also exempt from entry visas for Mozambique. The visas granted under this exemption allow foreign nationals to remain in the country for a period that cannot be extended and cannot exceed 90 days.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
1. PASSPORT OR SIMILAR DOCUMENT
The document should have a validity not less than six (6) months / 180 (one hundred eighty) days.
2. MEANS OF SUPPORT
Proof of possession of sufficient funds during the applicant’s stay in Mozambique.
3. AIRLINE TICKET
Applicants should provide a copy of airline ticket. The ticket should be for a round trip.
4. RECENT PHOTO
Applicants should provide one recent passport sized photo.
5. DIPLOMATIC NOTE VERBALE
A diplomatic Note Verbale issued by their Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy, Consulate or competent multinational business.
6. APPLICATION FOR ENTRY FORM
The form entitled APPLICATION FOR ENTRY TO MOZAMBIQUE has to be duly completed and signed by the applicant. The form can be filled only in English, Portuguese or French, in capital letters and black or blue ink. Abbreviations and acronyms are not permitted.
The names of the entry/exit borders mentioned in the form refer to the borders of Mozambique where the applicant will enter and exit the country.
FEES, ISSUANCE TIME & VALIDITY
Visas differ in terms of the amount of entries they allow, it can be single or multiple. The validity and processing time of each visa can also differ depending on the needs of the applicant.
PROCESSING FEES
Diplomatic visas are free of charge. However, in case the applicant wishes to send the visa application via mail, it should include the value to cover the cost of return by registered mail. Please refer to the section VISA APPLICATION SUBMISSION for more information.

VISA APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Due to the Corona Virus outbreak, visa application are to be submitted via registered mail only.
VIA REGISTERED MAIL
Via mail, adding the values as stipulated bellow per number of passports (in cash, not by bank transfer) to your request to cover the cost of return by registered mail:
One passport € 15
Two passports € 20
Three to four passports € 25
Five to six passports € 30
NOTE: These amounts should be included in the visa application in cash, and not done by bank transfer. Furthermore, and in order to avoid any internal delays, if the application involves more than 5 passports please give us call.
